Hydroxide: Effectively Scrubs the Air, Filter, and System Clean
One of the keys is the micro-holes in the filter screen. The small, round holes are surrounded by a catalyst that produces hydroxide, the second process, which in turn cleans the air and filter, resulting in freeing up the airflow for improved energy efficiency of the HVAC system.

The Perma-Clean Filter can be easily installed at any point in your HVAC system. This picture shows the filter being slid into the 1-inch filter guide right underneath the AC coil in a heat pump. In this case, the self-cleaning filter also keeps the coil clean on an ongoing basis, lowering energy use and increasing energy efficiency of the system.
